A Novel Multiport Hybrid Wave Energy System for Grid-Connected and Off-Grid Applications

Direct drive wave energy converters (DDWECs) have gradually become the mainstream of (WECs). In order to make better use energy, storage devices and other renewable sources are often used suppress power fluctuation in DDWECs. However, addition will increase complexity converter system number switches. Considering flexibility nine-switch (NSCs), this paper proposes a novel grid-connected/off-grid multiport hybrid (HWES). First, structure modulation principle described. Then, model for generator, grid built, including control strategy each part. Finally, simulation application an experiment on off-grid HWES carried out. The results show that can achieve objective stable reliable transmission by reducing devices.
